Canterbury Home Check Ltd is a privately owned company operated by local people.

Canterbury Home Check Ltd started 36 months ago out of frustration that I couldn't get a detailed report that contained information on everything I was buying in the house. No reports from any of the inspection companies, had enough details on what I was buying.

I didn't want a report that described a particular room in a house in a 4 sentence paragraph.

I didn't want a report where 1/3 of the report was companies that they recommended to use to fix problems they had found.

I didn't want to know about small marks to walls or carpets or minor defects that could be easily fixed. I could see that when I walked around the property.

To me that's wasn't good enough and it wasn't value for money.

I wanted specific detail on each and everything I was buying. I wanted to know that every tap was working and every cupboard shut correctly or incorrectly. I wanted to know how many windows opened or were fixed and how many power points and light switches there were in every room.

I wanted specific detail on everything and that's what we base our reports on today.

We give a massive amount of information and photos in a straight forward layout that can be easily read and understood in plain English.

On this theory we have successfully built up the company to two inspectors, with over 50 years building experience between them. We have a fast and competent administration backing them up. This year we will add another inspector and a full time person to look after the marketing of our varied reports and services to the public and real estate sectors as well as the lawyers and mortgage brokers. This gives confidence to our clients that they are getting the best service and reports possible.

I have a lot of contact with our clients in person and over the phone. I have had nothing but positive feed back from our reports which tells us we are going forward in the right direction. We keep our pricing consistent while still delivering the most comprehensive report in the market.

Please remember; a small outlay in the beginning can save a large outlay in the future.
